<<A memo from Rand Courtney>>

This is the most exciting project that I have ever had a chance to work on. In my third year working on the project I felt it was time to raise the bar and change the game a little. Most of my experience lies in film and over the past few years I have mostly been making small independents with Workshop Theatre. After getting involved with “Amadeus” read more here And seeing the multimedia elements written into the script by Shaffer himself, I realized the potential in blending the two mediums. At a live performance the audience is taken along with the actor himself. There are limitless possibilities for real life drama and tension, but sometimes you can loose the subtle nuances that propel the viewer in even further. Film is good for this, but you are so distanced from what is happening on screen that you are more likely to loose focus or become indifferent. It seems to me that Multimedia is the next step for a more exciting and tangible performing arts experience.

The main difference will be the screen we are building above the set. Pre-filmed scenes will transition the story through live performance creating a multimedia Spectacle, involving live horses, intense action sequences, and exquisite costumes giving them the ultimate experience from both mediums.
